What We Do

The objectives of AFSA are carried out by a Board of Directors comprised of not less than 3 and no more than 15 member vessel owners and governed by the bylaws. The Board of Directors meet on a quarterly basis to discuss important industry related topics, review new member applications, and discuss enhancements to the AFSA insurance program. An Annual General Meeting is held to elect new directors and allow current members to express themselves on current topics and membership issues.

AFSA provides members with crew contracts, claims reporting forms, background checks and hiring practice guidelines that have all been reviewed by their legal counsel at Legros Buchanan & Paul, P.S. Members also have access to claims handling services through local/regional professional Third party Adminstrators.
